Thanks for your interest in upstreaming the hardware support into Debian. I have previous experience with Allwinner A20, and enabling support for boards in Debian ( http://goo.gl/FHDoi4 ). I do not have access to a Banana Pi, so if you could provide a free sample that would be great as I can test on it! Shipping details below. Just to avoid too big expectations, there is a limit on how much time I can spend if working on my spare time. I'm already involved in too many projects taking up most of my spare time already. So here are some limitations to my involvement: - u-boot support for banana pi needs to have either someone actively working on getting it into Denx mainline u-boot git tree (via the u-boot-sunxi custodian tree maintained by Ian and Hans) or someone willing to maintain the patches in Debian for all future. I'd really like to avoid committing to anything for all future, so second option is not appealing to me. For upstreaming via sunxi custodian tree, I can possibly help with some minor assistance here. I have previous contact with Ian. - The kernel support must be already available in Linus mainline linux git tree or the Debian kernel team will not accept (backported) patches. Hopefully the DTB recently submitted by Hans should pave way for this: http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2014-July/276339.html - Please note that mainline linux currently has no support for graphics on Allwinner SoCs. Basic first steps is being taken in the "linux-sunxi" community to adress this, but this is such a major task that please don't expect me to be able to adress this. I can only help assist getting things enabled in Debian as soon as they're available upstream. This means that the Debian support will be "headless" (no graphics, only serial console) for now... I see no major problems right now for being able to address getting (headless) support into Debian very soon! If you're still interested in me working on this, please ship to: Andreas Henriksson Backedalsvagen 45 41749 Gothenburg Sweden Best Regards, Andreas Henriksson --C6999D3A4.1408093612/smtprelay-h31.telenor.se--
